The Quaich is the classic small drinking bowl of Scotland – and is a truly traditional Scottish gift.
I hand turn the quaichs from mostly Scottish timber in my workshop near Perth. Due to the natural quailites of wood, each quaich is completely unique. They are therefore an excellent and traditional gift to mark special occasions: weddings, as "loving cups", retirements, golf or Highland Games trophies, for Burns night or St Andrews day, or any other celebration, especially surrounding Scottish traditions. Last year was also the 250th anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns the Royal Mint produced a special commerative Two Pound coin featuring the the lyrics from "Auld Lang Syne". A great gift as we approach Burn's night.
In addition I now offer an engraving service. Either a polished aluminium or a sterling silver disc can be inset into the underside of the foot. Or, if the quaich is not intended for drinking from, it can be inserted into the base of the bowl as can be seen in the picture on the right.
