About The Wooden Quaich

This is a pic of me at the Lochearnhead
Highland Games in 2010.quaichs at highland show

All the quaichs are hand turned by me, Stewart McCarroll, in my workshop in Ardgay, Sutherland.

Due to the natural qualities of wood, each quaich is completely unique - and mostly turned from Scottish timber.

Although not replicas, many of the items I produce are inspired by surviving historical artifacts.

Each piece is made individually, generally from Scottish timber or recycled wood. I am a member of the Scottish Working Woods label scheme and a member of the Scottish Wild Harvest Association.

Whilst no two items are identical, I can produce a close matching set if required.

Information on the history of the Scottish Quaich, can be found here. Or, please browse the Quaich gallery for examples of our wooden quaichs.
